The Moroccan Oasis Springs mod - V.1.2
Aaaah, Courtyard Oasis... What a gorgeous kit! Probably one of my top 3 favorite.
Sadly, we don't have any arabic world in the Sims4 to build wonderful riads.
So here it is: I tried my best to change Oasis Springs into a Moroccan looking world.
UPDATE V1.2 - 8th of December, 2023
- I've replaced the street light (mesh and texture from Cottage Living) to a new version made from the Tomarani street lights from For Rent.
- The street lights were also modified to match the position of the light halos, so no more floating lights near the lights, now they're inside!
V1.1
- The random shadows on the ground are gone!
- I've changed the design of the trash bin for a more moroccan one (I've made the texture myself😏)
Known issues
- Random lights and shadows are visible in Oasis Springs.
those "anomalies" are where buildings, cacti, street lights et vehicle were.
removing those objects, lights and shadows are 3 differents tasks.
If I remove them, maybe they will disapear in other worlds as well.
- The "Moroccan Oasis Springs" items are visibles in other worlds.
Yes, because differents worlds share common items like a road in Moonwood Mill or some street lights
in NewCrest. Sadly, I can't change that...
My advices:
- Use Moroccan Oasis Springs as a vacation destination and remove the mod when you're done to avoid weird looking objects in other worlds, or play in Oasis Springs only.
- You can search for moroccan builds on the Gallery using the #Moroccan for a better immersion.
What I would like to improve for a V.2-Adding items like tartosian trees and moroccan decorative buildings and elements such as trash bins, benches and street lights.- Modifying Parched Prospect and Skyward Palms neighborhoos as well.
I actually tried to do those things already, but I don't have enough knowledge about Sims4 Studio and Blender.
Frequently asked questions
"Does it change every Oasis Springs' Neighborhoods?"
Actually no, a few Neighborhoods aren't (fully) changed, because they're too green in my opinion
to fit the moroccan vibe anyway, so I didn't change them.
Here's the neigborhood that aren't moroccanified:
"Does this mod remove premade lots on Oasis Springs?"
Nope! Lots will stay the way there were before installing the mod.
"How do I install it?"
Drop the .package in your Mods folder, usually it's under
Documents > Electronics Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods
"Does it replace the map overview?"
No, the map overview stays the same, same with the sneakpeak icon in the world selection menu
"Do I need a specific pack to make the mod work?"
Even if I use objects from StrangerVille, Couryard Oasis and Cottage Living, you don't need those pack: The mod is Base Game compatible.
"What happen if I remove the mod?"
Oasis Springs will go back to its old self. The cacti, buildings and other hidden items will come back as well. If you used the moroccan bin, street light or public bathroom, these elements will come back to their vanilla version, like Cinderella at midnight.
